Team Xecuter presents XECUTER2 BIOS Build 4978.03 30th August 2003 ---------------- Update ------ Unfortunately there was a bug in the IGR code found in build 4978.02, leading to non-booting games. We fixed this now in build 4978.03 so finally please enjoy a fully working x2 4978 bios. Information ----------- X2 4978 is a first in xbox kernels. We have successfully embedded a fully working XBE into the kernel opening up a huge amount of possibilities for future mods and bios's. You should all know that this bios is a preview release. It is not final in any way and you should use it with caution. It will constantly be improved and changed over a period of time. The current XBE is an FTP server - enabling you to connect to your xbox with no dashboard installed or to rescue your system with a corrupt dashboard installed. Here are some points describing its usefulness: 1) For people who dont have a cd burner 2) For those who have difficulty in burning a CD 3) For those who mess up their dash somehow and cannot get back into the box You should note this release isn't just about an FTP server - we can add anything we want - it's a matter of imagination. In the meantime if there is anyone who has an improved FTP server code - by all means pass it on and we will include whatever improvements you bring. We are currently including improvements from the MXM dash (By Ben Jeremy) so thanks go to him. FTP Information --------------- XBOX is set to a Static IP: 192.168.10.123, Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0, Login/Pass: x3 / x3 Simply setup your NIC the same subnet mask (NO GATEWAY or DNS) To activate the FTP Server - simply press and hold the "A" button on bootup and then connect to your XBOX :) Speeds are not as fast as can be (dont forget this is Alpha) but you will still get a respectable 2000KB/Sec I recorded an average: Transferred 1 file totaling 19,302,690 bytes in 10.23 (1,867.47 KB/Sec) Support Apps ------------ Nghtshd (as expected) has released a tool for you to change the IP configuration to suit your own. Seems to be an issue with bios greater than 256k.
